Things You'll Need:
- Flat iron
- Hairspray
- 4 large bobby pins
Steps:
1. Wash your hair like you normally would, blow dry it, know you the whole 9 yards.
2. After your hair has been thoroughly washed and dryed, heat up your flat iron. If you have extremely thick hair turn it up to it's max heat setting (if it has one), and if you have extremely thin hair don't set to the max heat setting (set it somewhere in the middle).
3. Pull half of your hair up into a clip or a bun (like you would if you were doing a half ponytail).
4. You are going to use 1 inch sections of your hair that you are going to curl.
5. Hold your flat iron at a horizontal angle, clamp the top of the hair closest to the root as possible, take the iron and turn it all the way over so the iron is completely wrapped in the hair. (the iron is still in place, it has not moved down the hair yet.)
6. Then, pull the hair down very very slowly, all the way to the bottom.
7. You should have a very tight curl. Don't worry if it isn't away from your face, the idea is to have all the pieces in random directions. These are not perfect curls.
8. If you don't like using a flat iron for curling your hair then you can also use any curling iron you would like, just make sure your curls are random and tight. I just prefer using a flat iron for this particular look. I get the best results with this method.
9. Do this for the top and the bottom.
10. When your hair is done and all curly, take a few pieces off the top (the same amount on each side) and pin them back with your bobby pins.
11. Last thing is to hairspray it all, then you're done (:
How To Get The Cut & Color:
- Ask for straight across bangs, but not too short so you can at least sweep them to the side slightly.
- Also ask for lots and lots of layers.
- For color, just ask to have your hair dyed a dark dark brown, just a shade lighter than black.
